I believe in justice and truth, without which there would be no basis for human hope.

-His Holiness the Dalai Lama

  The Gateless Gate

Mumonkan  The Koans  Zen Buddhhism

Buddhism makes mind its foundation &   no-gate its gate.

Now, how do you pass thru this no-gate?

It is said that things coming in thru the gate can never be your own treasures.

What is gained from external circumstances, will perish in the end.

However, such a saying is already raising waves when there is no wind. It is cutting unblemished skin.

As for those who are trying to understand thru other people's words,                     they are striking at the moon with a stick; scratching a shoe,                          whereas it is the foot that itches.

What concern have they with the truth?

Choices 1

       We are what we think.

All that we are arises with our thoughts.

With our thoughts we make the world.

Speak or act with an impure mind and trouble will follow you.

As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart.

        We are what we think.

All that we are arises with our thoughts.

With our thoughts we make the world.

Speak or act with a pure mind

And happiness will follow you

As your shadow, unshakable. In this world

Hate never yet dispelled hate.

Only love dispels hate.

This is the law, Ancient and inexhaustible.

You too shall pass away. Knowing this, how can you quarrel?

Whoever is the master of his own nature, Bright, clear and true,

He may indeed wear the yellow robe.
